Terms of Use
Verdra is research-led and pre-commercial. These website terms cover public access to the rulebook, public specification, working papers, demo console, and reference SDK preview. Production engagements are governed by an engagement-specific Master Services Agreement that supersedes these terms.
These are website terms. They do not create a production service agreement, legal advice relationship, arbitration agreement, insurance determination, payment-network ruling, or commitment that Verdra Forum is operating.
1. Scope
These terms apply to the public Verdra website at verdra.co, public documentation, demonstration pages, and preview-stage access to reference implementation materials made available through this repository or by Verdra. They do not govern production deployments under a signed agreement.
2. Demonstration content
The Capture demo and Record console pages show illustrative fixtures. Names, transaction values, hashes, party identifiers, package ids, signatures, timestamps, and Evidence Package fields on demo pages may be synthetic. Nothing on this website constitutes a real transaction, a real adjudication, legal advice, an expert opinion, an insurance coverage determination, or a payment-network decision.
3. Licensing split
The following licensing split applies unless a signed agreement says otherwise:
- Verdra Rules and public specification text. The Verdra Rules v0.1, public technical specification, Evidence Package walkthrough, and model opt-in clause text are published under Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0. You may use, redistribute, and build on them, including commercially, if you credit Verdra and share derivatives under the same license.
- Reference SDK code. The public Python reference implementation is licensed under Apache-2.0 unless an engagement-specific agreement provides otherwise.
- Brand and website materials. Verdra trademarks, logos, trade dress, website design, visual identity, domain names, and goodwill are not licensed under CC BY-SA or Apache-2.0.
- Forum and institutional materials. Verdra Forum charter materials, administrative procedures, non-public institutional documents, and engagement-specific implementation materials are separately licensed or governed by contract.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the site or preview materials to violate law, compromise security or availability, misrepresent demonstration fixtures as production output, remove attribution required by applicable licenses, or imply endorsement, certification, admissibility, insurance approval, payment-network approval, or institutional appointment by Verdra without written permission.
5. No legal advice and no admissibility guarantee
Verdra materials are designed to support evidentiary analysis of AI-agent transactions. They are not legal advice. A Verdra-compatible Evidence Package is designed for verifiability and evidentiary use, but admissibility, probative value, enforceability, privilege, confidentiality treatment, and legal effect depend on the governing law, forum, contract, record integrity, chain of custody, and applicable procedure.
6. Preview limitations
The reference implementation is provided at preview stage. V0.1 limitations include deferred RFC 3161 timestamping, local-key signing unless an engagement supplies another signer backend, no automatic Mandate registry lookup, no automatic WORM storage verification, and self-reported behavior evidence unless an integration supplies another collector.
7. No warranty
The website, documentation, demo pages, and preview reference implementation are provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verdra disclaims liability for losses arising from reliance on the public framework, demo pages, or preview implementation. Engagement-specific warranties, if any, must be stated in a signed agreement.
8. Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes arising from the public website fall to the courts of the judicial district of Montreal, Quebec. Production deployments may stipulate a different forum and governing law in their agreement.
